Preheating for welding and heat treatment for stress relief by Induction
PREHEATING
Induction heating consists of subjecting the piece to an electromagnetic field through induction coils, which in turn generate induced current that heats the piece, allowing the entire weld region and adjacent areas, especially the heat-affected zones (HAZ), to be heated. The induction coil can be Air Cooled or Liquid Cooled, depending on the operating temperature.
Stress relief
Stress relief by induction is an alternative to the method of heating by electric resistances. The process allows for faster heating rates in ferromagnetic materials; however, the temperature limit for heating is 788°C.
